The singer gave birth to two children in two years, and shared the meaning behind her son’s name
Anne-Marie shared her son’s name officially on This Morning for the first time since she welcomed him into the world earlier this year.
The 34-year-old singer gave birth to her second child, a boy, with husband Slowthai in May this year. The couple also have a daughter named Seven, who was born in February 2024.
Just two months after welcoming her son to the world, Anne-Marie took to her social media to address how she struggled after the birth.
She wrote: “This is the most ‘me’ I’ve felt in a long time. My head has been all over the place. I’ve been pregnant and breastfeeding for over 2 years.
“My hormones are mental and I’ve only just started feeling okay. I’ve been through a lot. My body has been through a lot. It’s so hard but I guess cliche to say IT IS worth it.
“For someone who doesn’t like routines I’ve had to become the person who lives in one. With naps and feeding and meal times. But I’m through it, still going through it but I feel I’ve come out of the hole.”
Appearing on This Morning on Tuesday (October 14), Anne-Marie sat down with hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard as she discussed her new single and motherhood.
Up until now, the singer has kept the name of her son private. However, Capital Breakfast threw a baby shower where in the video Anne-Marie said the name but it was bleeped out of the clip.
She shared: “I haven’t told anyone yet. His name is Forever… Forever Sugar.”
Anne-Marie added: “Sugar is his middle name because I had the diabetes that you get when you’re pregnant. So I thought, what a perfect middle name.”
When asked how she came up with the name Forever, the star exclaimed: “It’s a weird thing, really. My nan used to sign off every card with ‘always and forever’, and my sister does it. I just think, Forever, it’s just a cool name.”
Sharing how her daughter acts around Forever, she said: “She treats him like he’s her age. So, she doesn’t really get that he’s still super tiny…
“They love each other, stare at each other.” Touching on how she feels away from them when working, Anne-Marie added: “I just want to be around them.
“It’s hard, definitely, because when I’m doing music I want to be with them, and when I’m with them I’m like, ‘oh I wanna be on…’, it’s such a weird thing. I don’t even know how to deal with it yet!”
