Meghan Markle reportedly wrote a letter to the now-King Charles, sharing one of her biggest gripes about royal life. She and Prince Harry left their royal duties in 2020 and since then, they’ve publicly shared details on the purported difficulties they faced as royals.
The Duchess of Sussex reportedly wrote to Charles as she wanted answers about why she was allegedly prohibited from doing certain things. This was apparently after she and the Duke of Sussex were interviewed by Oprah Winfrey in 2021. A Netflix docuseries was also released in 2022, closely followed by Prince Harry’s memoir Spare the following year, in which the couple were quick to criticise the monarchy and their time in it.

Harry and Meghan reportedly tried to deal with their issues privately by contacting then-Prince Charles.
Royal expert Neil Sean previously said that Meghan reportedly wrote a letter to Harry’s father complaining about “different rules” she had to follow while carrying out her royal duties, compared to other members of the Royal Family.
Speaking in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, royal-watcher Mr Sean claimed Meghan “wants answers” from the King about the restrictions put on her life as a senior royal.

“The thing that really riles Meghan is that Fergie pops up on things like the ITV daytime show This Morning, Loose Women and billing herself as the Duchess of York, selling books and possibly doing adverts all under the Royal Family.
“Meghan and Harry seemingly don’t understand why it’s a different rule for her.”
On a recent five-day visit to the UK in July, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, met King Charles and Queen Camilla.
The reunion marked an important moment as it is believed the monarch had hoped to see his grandchildren.
