Benedict Bridgerton’s Ho Phase Is Coming to a Close

Bridgerton season 4 will be all about the Bridgerton who put the B in LGBT+ community, Benedict, and his new boo. Last season saw Benedict Bridgerton gently dump his gf after a mmf three-way because he wasn’t ready to settle down. Per Variety, Benedict’s love story will be lifted from the books. An Offer From a Gentleman sees Benedict fall for a mysterious “lady in silver,” who turns out to be commoner Sophie Baek. A non-ton, so to speak. Showrunner Jess Brownell went out of book order for these seasons, giving us Polin before the Lady in Silver because she wanted to explore Benedict’s pansexuality.
“I knew that people out there had a feeling Benedict might be queer,” Brownell told Variety. “And personally, it made sense to me. He’s not just open minded, it’s that he seems like the type of person who wouldn’t be as concerned with gender — someone who might be more fluid and pansexual.” Hence the threesome. But now “he’s trying to find something a bit more solid in himself,” Luke Thompson (who plays Benedict) told Tudum. Below, find the hottest gossip about the new season.
Bridgerton Season 4 Debuts in 2026
U.K. morning telly show This Morning broke the news that Bridgerton is coming to Netflix in 2026, bifurcated into two parts. Part one comes to the ton January 29, with part 2 concluding February 26.
Behold a sneak peek.
It looks like a perfectly proper follow-up. On Valentine’s Day, 2025, Netflix dropped some first-look images, alongside a behind-the-scenes video, of the upcoming fourth season. We get our first look at the Masquerade Ball during which our lovers will meet, as well some shots of Lady Whistledown, now consorting directly with Queen Charlotte. Quite the scandal, actually!
Who’s Benny’s Boo?
The person who has caught Benedict’s eye is Lady in Silver— who’s actually Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha), a “resourceful maid” with big dreams. “The scripts that Jess and her team have come up with are dynamite. They’re really, really, really exciting,” Thompson explained to Tudum. “The story line is a bit of a twist on Cinderella. You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them. It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton … It’s such a great story, but it’s also, I hope, really relatable.” Benedict doesn’t ever let the fear of striking out keep him from playing the game of love.
Other characters making their grand entrance include a new family with Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung), Posy Li (Isabella Wei), and Rosamund Li (Michelle Mao) — the latter is also, pun very much intended, gunning for Benedict’s affection.
When is the ball?
The first batch of episodes airs on January 29, 2026, with the second batch following on February 26, 2026. Plenty of time to get ready for the ball.
