Outlander season 8 episode 4 release time and date explained
Outlander is set to air this week and here’s everything you need to know about when you can watch the next instalment
Outlander is returning to our screens this week following a recent pivotal revelation for Claire Fraser (portrayed by Caitríona Balfe) and the unexpected twist that Captain Cunningham (Kieran Bew) isn’t a retired redcoat as initially suggested.
As the eighth and concluding series of Outlander intensifies, here’s a glimpse at precisely when you can catch the upcoming episode and what will transpire next, reports the Daily Record.
When does Outlander season 8 episode 4 air?
The fourth episode of Outlander’s eighth season, titled Muskets, Liberty, and Sauerkraut, will be broadcast in the USA on Friday, March 27.
Those with access to the Starz app can view the new episode from midnight Eastern Standard Time (ET) upon its release.
Episode four will be shown on cable channel Starz at 8pm ET and then replayed twice after the initial airing.
However, British viewers will have to wait until Saturday, March 28 to watch the subsequent episode.
Muskets, Liberty, and Sauerkraut is anticipated to be available on streaming platform MGM+, which is a channel on Prime Video, at 12midnight GMT on the day of release.
The eighth season of Outlander consists of 10 episodes.
The programme will be broadcast weekly rather than as a boxset drop and there will be a two-week hiatus after episode eight, before the show resumes for the final two episodes.
What will happen in Outlander season 8 episode 4?
Starz previously released a brief preview for Muskets, Liberty, and Sauerkraut on YouTube.
The episode synopsis hinted: “There’s this Scottish fellow and when he heard I was from Fraser’s Ridge, he mentioned he was heading there himself.”
In the brief teaser, Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) informs Claire: “If Cunningham is forming a militia, we need to be ready.”
Meanwhile, Young Ian Murray (John Bell) tells Jamie: “There’s this Scottish fellow and when he heard I was from Fraser’s Ridge, he mentioned he was heading there himself.”
As Young Ian speaks, he and Jamie are seen stealthily navigating through the forests, suggesting they are stalking someone.
The trailer then switches to Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) telling Fergus Fraser (César Domboy): “Jamie’s forming a militia.”

No sooner has Roger spoken than a window is shattered as Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton) takes cover.
Things become more foreboding as an unseen character tells Claire: “You have a very fine home. It must feel very empty.”
The suspense escalates with a montage of shots as various characters gear up for battle.
The trailer concludes with Cunningham revealed as the man speaking as he queries Claire: “Are you here all alone?”
Viewers will have to tune in to discover what transpires next but many have already taken to the comments section to express their reactions to the preview.
One fan commented: “This is going to get very serious!”
A second individual wrote: “It’s coming people, it’s not a drill runs in circles I’ll get my klennex ready [sic].”
