Outlander: Blood of My Blood season one has come to an end with fans left in tears
Outlander: Blood of My Blood – teaser trailer for series finale
WARNING: This article contains major spoilers from Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 10
The first season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood has drawn to a close, leaving fans in mourning as they eagerly await the second series, currently being filmed in Scotland, reports the Daily Record.
This week’s episode of the Outlander prequel introduced two familiar faces from the original series – a young Claire Fraser and her Uncle Quentin Lambert Beauchamp, portrayed by George Kemp.
In a heart-wrenching series of flashbacks, viewers were shown Claire’s parents Henry (Jeremy Irvine) and Julia Beauchamp (Hermione Norris), along with Uncle Lamb, celebrating her second birthday.
Later scenes saw Uncle Lamb and Claire bid farewell to Henry and Julia at the train station, as the couple embarked on their ill-fated journey to Inverness and into the past.
The poignant scene, marking the last time Claire would see her parents alive, led many fans to take to social media to share their thoughts, under the impression that she had been orphaned.

One viewer posted: “*sobbing* this was the last time they saw eo #BloodOfMyBlood [sic].”
Another commented on X (formerly Twitter): “most precious angel in all of england #bloodofmyblood [sic].”
A third remarked: “Knowing this is the last time henry, Julia and claire see each other hurts me #BloodOfMyBlood [sic].”
While a fourth fan wrote: “Such an epic finale for an incredible pilot season! ! ! ! ! ! Happy Droughtlander y’all… we’ve got LOTS of rewatching to do! #BloodOfMyBlood THANK YOU @Outlander_STARZ [sic].”
One viewer exclaimed: “A no spoiler review/update: Oh my goodness… The whisky sustained me, and I may have needed a tissue. #BloodOfMyBlood Finale #Outlander.”

Another fan enthused: “That finale of #BloodOfMyBlood though! ! ! I’m so used to be disappointed in season finales but this totally delivered.”
The episode was also peppered with significant Outlander references, including a touching scene where a young Claire reaches for her mother’s hand on a train platform, echoing a moment from the second series when Claire reaches for Jamie Fraser’s (Sam Heughan) hand upon their arrival in France.
Furthermore, Uncle Lamb’s heartfelt speech at Claire’s second birthday party was particularly revealing: “To Claire, may all your years on this gloriously, extraordinary Earth be as joyful and lovely as these first.
“And for the grand adventures awaiting you. May whichever paths you take lead you far and wide, yet always guide you back home.”
He continued: “Just look at those eyes! Mark my words, she has the spirit of an explorer and she understands the importance of careful excavation.”

In a poignant moment, Julia pleaded: “Can I please just keep my little girl a bit longer before you send her off to excavate Egyptian tombs?”
This scene foreshadowed Claire’s destiny, adding an extra layer of poignancy.
A third homage to the original series occurred when Murtagh Fitzgibbons (Rory Alexander) presented Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) with boar tusk bracelets as a wedding gift, a detail fans will recognise from Outlander.
The season one finale, titled Something Borrowed, saw Henry and Julia in a race against time to reach Craig na Dun with baby William, leaving viewers on tenterhooks as to whether they could time travel without any gemstones.
In the meantime, Murtagh assisted Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) in rescuing Ellen from Castle Leoch and her marriage to Malcolm Grant (Jhon Lumsden).
Despite his own feelings for Ellen, Murtagh persuaded Brian that she still harboured love for him, following a protective lie in the previous episode.
Regrettably, fans will have to endure a lengthy wait for the second series.
However, there is some good news as Starz has confirmed that the eighth and final season of Outlander will be gracing our screens in early 2026, signalling an end to the Droughtlander.
