Outlander star Sam Heughan opened up about the line that was the “bane” of his existence and had him butting heads with showrunners.
Outlander star Sam Heughan has revealed his least favourite line from his character Jamie Fraser. The revelation came during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 25, where Sam was joined by co-stars Sophie Skelton (Brianna MacKenzie) and Richard Rankin (Roger MacKenzie), as well as showrunner Matthew B. Roberts and executive producer Maril Davis.
During the discussion, Sam shared his frustration with one particular line from the show, saying: “There was one time Matt and I fell out. I was floating in a very large bathtub in South Africa, and the line was, ‘If you die, I’ll kill you.’ And I had a real problem with that.”
“I just wanted Matt to explain it to me,” the 45-year-old Outlander actor continued, as Matt responded that he did, “over and over again”. The Scottish actor went on to describe how both Matt and co-star Caitríona Balfe were urging him to “just say the f***ing line”.

This refers to a memorable scene in the season three finale episode titled Eye of the Storm, where Jamie rescues Claire after she nearly drowns, reports The Irish Star.
He concluded his comments by praising Outlander author Diana Gabaldon for her “amazing books”.
The STARZ series is based on Gabaldon’s popular book series. There are currently nine books published, with a tenth reportedly planned.

The series follows the story of Claire Randall, a former WWII nurse who inadvertently time-travels from 20th-century Britain to 17th-century Scotland. Once there, she encounters and falls for a dashing Highland warrior named Jamie Fraser.
The programme first aired in August 2014 and was brought to the screen by Ronald D. Moore.
Outlander is set to conclude with its eighth and final season, anticipated to be released in early 2026. Numerous fans at the panel were eager to know what lies ahead for Claire and Jamie, particularly following the suspenseful season seven finale.
In Outlander’s seventh season, Claire and Jamie embarked on the perilous journey back to Scotland, where their tale began in the first season.
Despite Outlander nearing its end, the universe has expanded with the introduction of a prequel show, Outlander: Blood of My Blood. This prequel will trace the lives of both Jamie and Claire’s parents.
Outlander season 7 is streaming on MGM+ via Prime Video now. Outlander: Blood of My Blood premieres on Starz on August 8 and on Prime Video via MGM+ on August 9.
