Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have withdrawn their children from school in the UK due to security concerns

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made the decision to pull their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, out of their UK school after just two days of attendance, citing logistical security challenges surrounding the daily travel route.
The decision follows the family’s recent relocation back to Britain from Montecito, California, with both children enrolling for the start of the autumn term. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed that the change was prompted strictly by operational concerns evaluated by the family’s private security team. According to reports, long driving distances and heavy local traffic on the school run made it difficult for the multi-vehicle security convoy to remain safely grouped during peak transport times.
Representatives for the couple emphasized that the abrupt withdrawal was not a reflection on the educational institution itself. In an official statement, the spokesperson noted that the decision should in no way be interpreted as a criticism of the faculty or staff, adding that Harry and Meghan remain deeply grateful for the exceptional care, warm reception, and effort shown to their children during their brief stay.
Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet Pulled From U.K. School After 2 Days Amid Security Fear
A friend close to the family shared that Archie and Lilibet had genuinely enjoyed their initial sessions, making the swift transition a difficult operational choice. Both children have already been transitioned to another local school in the area, where their security detail can manage the drop-off and pick-up routines more safely.
The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges the Sussex family faces since returning to the United Kingdom as non-working royals. While the couple lost automatic taxpayer-funded police protection after stepping back from royal duties in 2020, their permanent residency back on British soil has prompted a fresh risk assessment.
The Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC) is currently conducting an official review regarding the appropriate level of protection for both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as private citizens living in the UK. The move allows the family to balance their private routines and local schooling arrangements while maintaining the strict safety standards required by their security team.
