After being gone from the MCU timeline since 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland is getting ready to reprise the beloved Marvel hero in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with Destin Daniel Cretton set to direct the Phase 6 installment. To this point, story details on Spider-Man: Brand New Day have been extremely limited, as Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures are keeping a lot of it under wraps.
@lukec1605 recently shared what appears to be Spider-Man: Brand New Day set photos, with a bike relocation notice stating “From 1st – 9th August, A feature film will be shot down Bothwell Street.” However, it’s the additional photos that are also sparking theories about a crucial Spider-Man: Brand New Day element having been possibly revealed.
The images focus on a “Work in Progress: BUILDING AR515” location that’s in New York, with “Anticipated Completion: December 2027,” from a company named FYX Group. Based on the building’s estimated completion date, it would suggest that Spider-Man: Brand New Day takes place before Avengers: Doomsday.
While it remains to be seen if these set photos are from Holland’s movie, there is a strong possibility that they are indeed for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. August 1 is when Spider-Man: Brand New Day is filming, and Bothwell Street was one of the streets that would be shut down due to filming of the MCU installment in Glasgow.
What The Spider-Man: Brand New Day Set Photos Mean
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Time Setting Would Justify Avengers: Doomsday’s Delay
If these photos are truly from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it would mean the Phase 6 installment takes place a good while before the events of Avengers: Doomsday, since the team-up film is now slated to arrive in December 2026. Since Thunderbolts* played out sometime in 2027, it makes sense for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day story to have a similar timeframe.
A recent Instagram story from Holland, where he stated he is getting ready for a “secret shoot,” has also fueled theories that he is getting ready for Spider-Man: Brand New Day filming. However, it’s worth taking into account that it could always be for a different MCU project, which is currently also in production.
With Jon Bernthal’s Punisher set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the Netflix star is shooting his MCU Special Presentation right now. It wouldn’t be shocking if Holland is perhaps getting ready to shoot a cameo in the Punisher installment, which could pave the way for Bernthal’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day appearance.
Our Take On The Spider-Man: Brand New Day Set Photos
Holland’s MCU Film Could Lead Into Avengers: Doomsday
While time will tell if the latest set images are from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, having it take place before Avengers: Doomsday would make the most sense at this point. Even though it’s unknown if he is part of the Avengers: Doomsday cast, if Holland’s movie is happening before anything goes down in the December 2026 film, it would explain why he potentially comes back for it after Spider-Man. Brand New Day.

With principal photography starting properly soon, a lot of questions are bound to be answered about Spider-Man: Brand New Day in general. Hopefully, more will be clarified starting on August 1, which could be when the world gets a first look at Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day return through set photos or videos.
