Outlander spin-off teases massive nod to original series in new season

Outlander might have wrapped up eight seasons this year, but the story is far from over.
Stars of the spin-off have teased to Yahoo Lifestyle that there will be a massive nod to the original show.
Jamie Roy, who plays Brian Fraser, explained what fans can expect from Outlander: Blood of My Blood when it premieres on September 19.

“I love the original show,” he said.
“And there’s one [Easter egg] in episode six, which when I first read that, I was like, ‘That’s really cool’.”
He said it will be a massive moment for fans to experience when it lands on Stan.
His costar Harriet Slater backed him up.
“Yeah, it’s awesome,” she said.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Irvine, who plays Henry Beauchamp, said there will be familiar faces that the fans love.
He also teased how dedicated the production team is to attention to detail.
For example, Claire’s birthday cake in season one, which features strawberries shaped like a stone formation, plays an integral role in the show’s time-travel element

What is Outlander, and how does the spin-off fit into it?
Outlander is based on a book series by Diana Galbon, and follows the tale of two people who were never supposed to meet.
Claire Beauchamp (Caitríona Balfe) is on her honeymoon in the Scottish Highlands following the end of World War II, when she is transported back to the 18th century after touching a formation resembling Stonehenge.
It’s where she meets and falls in love with outlaw Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) ahead of the third Jacobite uprising.
Claire’s knowledge of the future helps them navigate troubling times such as the uprising, the French court, and the newly formed United States.
The spin-off follows Jamie and Claire’s parents, revealing that the pair were always destined to be, with their histories more intertwined than they first thought.
