The Testaments viewers are wondering if Dr. Grove will face punishment for his crimes.

Episode 8 of The Handmaid’s Tale sequel took a heartbreaking turn when Hulda (played by Isolde Ardies) revealed she had been sexually abused by Dr. Grove (Randal Edwards) during her dentist appointment.
Fans will remember that the main character, Agnes (Chase Infiniti), was also assaulted by the dentist in Episode 4, but she didn’t tell anyone about the incident.
However, when Agnes noticed that Hulda was visibly upset in the latest episode, she pulled her aside and asked why she looked so down. Hulda consequently told Agnes that Grove touched her inappropriately, and later reported his crimes to the Aunts.
But the Aunts encouraged Agnes and Hulda to pretend nothing happened, seemingly letting the doctor off the hook.

In the book, Dr. Grove is publicly executed by being torn to pieces by Handmaids.
Although Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) seems to brush off Agnes and Hulda’s accusations in the show, she actually orchestrates Grove’s execution in the book.
After learning that he had been abusing young girls, including his own daughter, Becka (Mattea Conforti), Lydia frames Grove for the attempted assault of Aunt Elizabeth during a dental appointment.
The case goes to court, where his fate is decided.

An excerpt from the novel reads: “As he was led out to the field, arms pinioned, he screamed, ‘I didn’t do it!” Aunt Elizabeth, the picture of outraged virtue, sternly blew the whistle.
“In two minutes, Dr. Grove was no more. Fists were raised, clutching clumps of bloodied hair torn out by the roots.”
Although it’s still unclear how Grove’s crimes will be dealt with in the series, Lydia teased that he will face consequences in the latest episode.
Fans will have to tune in to the final two episodes to find out exactly what happens.
