He told the Hollywood Reporter: ”First of all, it’s a character that seems to be really polarising for the audience… She seemed like such a pious and true believer, and as it turns out, it’s those very qualities that get Eden in trouble.
“She’s really one of the most honest people in this whole community.
“I find her death obviously really tragic, but it’s horribly beautiful in a way, too.”
It looks as though Eden’s death will turn out to be a catalyst for Offred and in turn those around her.
Eric explained: ”Eden’s execution really galvanises Offred.

“It triggers some very strong reactions and actions from her and, as a result, our other characters.”
Eric also touched on what fans could expect from the grand finale which will drop next week for American viewers.
He said: ”Our audience will see things and confrontations they have been hoping for.
“I hope our fans agree.”
Meanwhile, fans have been speculating over what will happen as the second instalment draws to a close but nothing it certain.

The episode is titled “The Word” which could be read as another biblical reference such as The Word of the Lord.
The official synopsis reads: “Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) and the other Wives strive to make change.
“Emily (Alexis Bledel) learns more about her new Commander.
“Offred faces a difficult decision.”
Viewers will just have to wait and see to find out what goes on in the dystopian drama.
