Between questions, Pedro Almodovar has been questioned about the reason why he refused to be part of the film ‘Brokeback Mountain’.

The filmmaker explained that the feature film finally directed by Ang Lee did not convince him because of the script: “I did not get to negotiate my limits in my artistic freedom but, if I had written the script, I would have included many more sex scenes,” Almodovar began explaining.

“The Annie Proulx story on which it is based tells of two men herding sheep in a harsh winter and seeking warmth. It’s a very animalistic relationship, in the best sense of the word. As far as I remember, there was a sex scene at the beginning, but then they were only seen embracing,” he said.

In addition, Pedro has had time to compare ‘Brokeback Mountain’ with his most recent film, ‘Strange Way of Life’. According to the director, in his feature film nudity is found in a different way: “Nudity is, for example, in how they look at each other during a dinner. They are much more exposed in that conversation than in an orgy,” said Almodovar.
