After months of delays, Landman Season 3 is finally back in production, with new behind-the-scenes photos offering fans an early look at the returning cast.
The Taylor Sheridan neo-Western had originally been expected to begin filming in May 2026, but production was pushed to August before James Jordan, who plays petroleum engineer Dale Bradley, confirmed that filming would instead begin sometime in September.
Production is now officially underway, with Season 3 scheduled to film from September through the first quarter of 2027.
‘Landman’ Season 3 Won’t Arrive Until 2027
Like the first two seasons, Landman Season 3 will consist of 10 episodes. Because filming is continuing into 2027, the new season will not premiere this year.
If post-production remains on schedule, however, the new episodes could arrive sometime in mid-to-late 2027.
Stephen Kay is also expected to return to direct additional episodes of the series.
While fans wait for the new season, two returning stars have already shared a glimpse of the production.
Mustafa Speaks and Mark Collie Share First-Look Photos
Mustafa Speaks, who plays oil crewman Theodore “Boss” Ramone, marked the start of Season 3 production by sharing a photo of Boss’ hard hat.

The helmet features his character’s nickname, “boss,” and Speaks captioned the post, “Back to Business @landmanpplus Season 3.”
Mark Collie, who portrays Sheriff Walt Joeberg, also celebrated the return to the set by sharing a photo of Walt’s cowboy hat.
“Season 3, let’s ride. The Sheriff is back in town,” Collie wrote.
The photos give viewers an early glimpse of the characters returning to work as production gets underway.
‘Landman’ Remains One of Paramount+’s Major Hits
Based on Christian Wallace’s Texas-set podcast Boomtown, Landman was co-created by Wallace and Taylor Sheridan.
The series premiered in 2024 and has since become one of Paramount+’s top-performing shows, attracting strong viewership and generally favorable reviews. Both seasons have also received Certified Fresh ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.
The neo-Western drama last aired on January 18, 2026, with a major Season 2 finale that dramatically changed Tommy Norris’ future.

Where Season 2 Left Tommy Norris
The Season 2 finale saw Tommy, played by Billy Bob Thornton, fired from M-Tex.
Rather than stepping away from the oil business, Tommy used the opportunity to launch his own independent company, CTT Oil Exploration and Cattle, with financial backing from Gallino, played by Andy Garcia.
Tommy also brought several important figures from M-Tex into his new operation, including his father, T.L. Norris, played by Sam Elliott, along with other trusted colleagues.
He appointed Cooper, played by Jacob Lofland, as president, Nate, played by Colm Feore, as treasurer, and Rebecca, played by Kayla Wallace, as COO and chief counsel.

With production now underway, Season 3 will continue the story from that major turning point.
Landman is streaming on Paramount+.
