The show, which is based on a novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood, also stars Gilmore Girls’ Alexis Bledel, who plays Ofglen – another of these handmaids
A feature film adaptation of Atwood’s book, starring Liam Neeson’s late wife Natasha Richardson as Offred, was released in 1990.
