Elisabeth Moss had one of her wildest dreams come true when she asked Taylor Swift to use one of her songs on The Handmaid’s Tale.

The actress and executive producer, 42, revealed how she requested the use of Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” for episode 9 of the hit Hulu series’ sixth season, which aired last month.

When asked what the Grammy winner thought of the song being featured in the show — during a pivotal moment when the handmaids walked in formation to stage an uprising against the Commanders led by June Osborne (Moss) — she responded, “Honestly, the feedback was her saying yes.”

Moss then revealed that she convinced Swift, 35, to allow the show to use the song with a letter about how her music has impacted her and her costars.

“That was really, truly such an honor that she took the time to read — you know I wrote her a letter about what I felt like the song meant for the episode, and her music means to me and our cast so the fact that she said yes to me was all the feedback that I needed,” she explained.

After the episode’s premiere, Moss told Billboard that using one of Swift’s tracks in the dystopian drama was something she’d had been longing to do.

“I’ve been wanting to use a Taylor song for many years on the show and we finally found the perfect spot for a track from her, and I’m so glad we waited because there could not be a more perfect song for a more perfect moment,” she said in a statement.

“Taylor has been such an inspiration to me personally,” she continued. “As a Swiftie myself, and I think I can speak for [co-star] Yvonne [Strahovski] and our entire cast as well, who are all Swifties, it’s such an honor to be able to use her music in the final episodes of our show.”

The actress proved her Swiftie status last year when she attended the singer’s Eras Tour stop in Toronto alongside her Handmaid’s Tale costar Bradley Whitford and his wife Amy Landecker, sharing a snap of the trio posing with Mariska Hargitay at the show.

The use of “Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)” — which was featured on Swift’s album Reputation — came more than a week before the artist announced she now owns her masters.

In the announcement, Swift informed her fans of the possibility of releasing re-recording of the rest of Reputation.

“I know, I know. What about Rep TV? Full transparency: I haven’t even re-recorded a quarter of it,” she wrote. “The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it. All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief.”

“To be perfectly honest, it’s the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn’t be improved upon by redoing it. Not the music, or the photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off. There will be a time (if you’re into the idea) for the unreleased vault tracks from that album to hatch.”
