Tom Holland and the most “n@ughty” tradition in the Marvel universe – From Spider-Man to a fashion ambassador… wearing rev3@ling clothes!

Tom Holland seems to have created a “cinematic tradition” that no one saw coming: every time he plays Spider-Man… he somehow loses his shirt.

It’s not about budget problems, and it’s definitely not Marvel forgetting to give him clothes. It’s literally about the shirt disappearing in the most “destined” way possible. From Homecoming (2017) to Far From Home (2019), then No Way Home (2021) and the newest Brand New Day (2026), his journey is not only about saving the world, but also a long, dramatic battle with… his wardrobe.

Starting with Homecoming (2017), Peter Parker is just a high school kid, new to being a superhero. While people worry if he has enough experience, maybe the more urgent question is: does he even have enough shirts? The movie isn’t even at its peak yet, and the audience is already like, “Wait… what?” when Peter shows up in situations where his shirt is just gone. Maybe this was Marvel testing the audience: “If he has no shirt, will you still focus on the story?”

Then comes Far From Home (2019). You would think traveling across Europe would help Peter be more “prepared,” but nope—when he’s far from home, his shirt is also far away. Paris is beautiful, Venice is romantic, but Peter stays loyal to his “less is more” style. People go on trips and bring back souvenirs, but he leaves behind… his shirts. Maybe his suitcase is full of responsibility and stress, while his clothes are lost somewhere in London.

Moving on to No Way Home (2021), things get more intense: the multiverse opens, villains come from everywhere, and Peter is… still missing his shirt as usual. When life already feels like “no way,” his shirt also says “no way” and disappears. Maybe this is a deep message: when you lose everything—your identity, your friends, your future—then a shirt doesn’t really matter anymore. But still, the audience can’t help but ask: “So… where is the shirt?”

And then we have Brand New Day (2026). A new start, a new day, a new Peter… but the shirt is still nowhere to be found. Even in a “brand new day,” the curse of missing shirts refuses to leave him alone. Maybe this is a hidden detail Marvel keeps on purpose, like a long-running easter egg. If you pay attention, you’ll notice it. If not… well, there’s no shirt to notice anyway.

Looking back at all four movies, we can make a very “scientific” conclusion (okay, maybe not that serious, but still fun to say): Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is not just a friendly neighborhood hero, but also a symbol of… minimalist fashion. While other superheroes keep upgrading their suits and changing outfits, Peter follows the philosophy of “the less, the better”—so less that sometimes… there’s nothing left at all.

Maybe in the future, Marvel will release a new movie with a title like “Finally Got a Shirt,” marking a historic moment when Peter Parker actually keeps his shirt from beginning to end. But until that day comes, audiences will probably keep following his journey—not only saving the world, but also trying to find his missing clothes.

And honestly, this might be what makes him so special: in a huge, epic superhero universe, there is one hero whose biggest problem is not just the villains… but also a shirt that disappears for no clear reason.
