Red, White & Royal Wedding has officially wrapped filming, bringing the sequel to Prime Video’s Red, White & Royal Blue another step closer to our screens. It’s a welcome update for fans, and the news arrived with a short but sweet sign-off video from the cast and director Jamie Babbit.
Taylor Zakhar Perez, who returns as Alex Claremont-Diaz, shared a social media video from the set as production came to a close. In the clip, Perez, Nicholas Galitzine and Rachel Hilson each say, “You’re done,” while holding the clapperboard, before Babbit caps it off with, “That’s a wrap! Every single person is done, including me.”
The sequel was first announced in May 2024, and filming began earlier this year. Perez and Galitzine shared a video from set in January announcing the start of filming, and in the process clarified that the wedding isn’t theirs, but Princess Beatrice’s, Henry’s younger sister.
Alex and Henry are back for the next chapter

The first film, based on Casey McQuiston’s 2019 novel, followed the romance between Alex, the son of the U.S. president, and Prince Henry, a British royal. What began as a staged friendship turned into a full-blown romance, with the 2023 adaptation finding a strong audience on Prime Video.
Plot details for the sequel are still being kept quiet, though earlier comments from the leads pointed to the wedding of Princess Beatrice, played by Ellie Bamber, as a key part of the story.
Returning cast and new additions
Perez and Galitzine are joined by returning cast members Uma Thurman, Sarah Shahi, Rachel Hilson, Ellie Bamber, Clifton Collins Jr., Stephen Fry, Thomas Flynn, Aneesh Sheth and Malcolm Atobrah.
New additions include Lena Headey, Chloe Fineman, Henry Ashton and Alex Høgh Andersen.
Behind the scenes, Babbit (Gilmore Girls, Only Murders in the Building) takes over directing duties from Matthew López, who remains on board as a writer alongside Gemma Burgess and original novel author Casey McQuiston.
Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter return to produce through Berlanti Schechter Films, alongside Michael McGrath and López. McQuiston and Michael Constable serve as executive producers, with Jennifer Salke of Sullivan Street Productions also producing.
A release date for Red, White & Royal Wedding has yet to be announced. Hopefully, we’ll have a wedding date to lock in soon!
