Sam Heughan divided fans this week when he revealed the purpose behind his upcoming U.S. travel plans.
As the Outlander star announced in a post on Instagram on Tuesday, Jan. 28, he will soon embark on a short U.S. tour in support of Sassenach Spirits, his Scottish whisky brand.
“The Sassenach 2025 US Winter Tour is hitting the road, and I can’t wait to see you all along the way!” Heughan wrote in the caption for his post. The Scottish actor then revealed a bit more about what the tour dates will entail, writing, “Join me at our bottle signings and in good spirits. 🥃.”
The Couple Next Door actor will be visiting wine, beer and liquor depots as he travels across the U.S. between early February and early March. Each tour date will feature a two-hour window during which fans can get Sassenach Spirits products signed by Heughan. He teased the upcoming tour by posting a video full of clips showing him shaking hands with fans and posing for photos at previous bottle-signing events.
The winter tour is scheduled to kick off on Feb. 8 in Westbury, N.Y., and will end on March 4 in San Diego, Calif. The eight-date tour also has scheduled stops at cities in Kentucky, Illinois, Florida, Texas, Colorado and Arizona.
Many fans reacted to the news by assuring the 44-year-old actor that they plan to attend the tour stops nearest their homes.
“See you in AZ! Can’t wait ❤️,” one person wrote, while a fan in or near Texas said they “cant wait to road trip to austin for this! are we allowed to drink while in line 😂.”
“I’m so excited to go I don’t mind waiting hours holy cow!! ❤️❤️🥃😍😍,” one Instagram user exclaimed.
“Let’s get this party started!” another fan wrote.
Others bemoaned the short list of tour dates as they wrote in to request additional stops in their hometowns.
“Exciting news 🇺🇸🥰 Would love to see Nashville Tennessee on that special winter tour 🥃 Maybe another time?” one fan requested.
“Just wish l could bee [sic] there on one of this great [sic] events but it’s to [sic] far away from me,” another fan agreed.
One person who said they have attended one of Heughan’s previous tours expressed excitement that others in the U.S. will soon experience a Sassenach Spirits tour. “Have fun everyone! 🎉🥰🍸 I have some great memories from these tours, and met many new friends along the way too. Cheers to a very Sassy Good time!🥃,” they commented.
