The highly controversial, X-rated scenes in Euphoria Season 3 feature Sydney Sweeney’s character, Cassie Howard. Last night was no exception.
Due to her OnlyFans storyline, viewers frequently refer to these provocative and bizarre fantasy sequences—including dressing as an infant and filming extreme acts—as a “humiliation ritual.”
However, this was a rare time when her body wasn’t the main talking point. Fans were left horrified after Euphoria aired a brutal scene involving her character.
Sydney Sweeney Gets Choke Slammed Through a Table

A clip on X is going viral, showing Sydney Sweeney as Cassie enduring an intense scene. It shows Cassie opening her front door, only to be grabbed by the neck by a man who lifts her off her feet. He then takes her over to a glass table and tosses her through it.
The man then drags her by the leg across a room littered with broken glass. The controversial moment came during episode seven of season three, titled Rain or Shine.
Another clip shows Sydney Sweeney’s character being kidnapped in a bid to force Nate to pay off his debt. Cassie is seen hogtied on a bed with a sock in her mouth as a man speaks to her. Once she states she won’t scream, he removes the sock.
The man, a loan shark, tells her she has 72 hours to figure things out. After asking about the 72-hour time limit, he replies that that is the length it takes to dehydrate. She is told this is for Nate, her. Nate is then shown in complete darkness and screaming as he has already been buried alive.
In a shocking twist, Nate is kidnapped by loan sharks, buried alive underground in a box, and tragically killed by a rattlesnake that slithers down his air tube. His death came right as Sydney Sweeney was getting closer to saving him.
Critics widely criticize showrunner Sam Levinson over his intense scenes. As a result, the Rotten Tomatoes scores for HBO’s Euphoria reflect a steep critical decline over its three seasons.
Season 3 dropped to the low-40% range. However, the ratings continue to pour in.
