Those “Larry” rumors got a whole lot weirder back in the day
Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson — two of One Direction’s biggest stars — had long been the subject of steamy fan fiction and wild rumors about a secret affair, dubbed “Larry” by fans (a mashup of Louis and Harry). But things really spiraled when a mysterious tweet involving Louis and porn suddenly appeared from Harry’s official Twitter account — and fans absolutely lost it.
At the time, Harry was promoting his debut solo single “Sign of the Times” and preparing for his Saturday Night Live performance. Out of nowhere, his account allegedly retweeted two photos of Louis captioned “Then and Now” — with a link that led to a gay porn site featuring videos titled “Louis riding Harry.” The tweet was deleted soon after, but not before it racked up over 30,000 likes and sent fans into full meltdown mode.
Was Harry’s account hacked? Was it a subtle message? Or just a very weird coincidence? Whatever the case, the internet went wild — and “Larry” truthers had a field day.
