Fox News host Jesse Watters
Comic and impressionist Matt Friend mocked Fox News host Jesse Watters live on his own show Thursday.
Friend opened the interview with a sharp jab that invoked Watters’ famously disapproving mother. “Every night, millions of Americans invite you into their homes — if only your mother would do the same,” Friend quipped.

Anne Watters, a Democrat, has publicly criticized her son in the past, calling him out for “sweeping statements” and “disdain for diversity.” When he took over Tucker Carlson’s coveted 8 p.m. slot on Fox, she called in to warn him: “Do not tumble into any conspiracy rabbit holes.”
And Watters claimed last year, following Donald Trump’s election victory, that his mother hadn’t invited him to Thanksgiving dinner, though it remains unclear how serious he was being.
During Thursday’s interview, Friend didn’t hold back.
At one point, he impersonated Trump and joked that Watters was “smiling like a dead dog.”

Watters, in return, later asked, “Has anybody ever punched you in the face?”
“That’s a great question, Jesse,” Friend replied. “That’s more of a question for you, I would add.”
Friend, whose exchange with Watters was largely, well, friendly, insisted his aim with his impressions was simply to make people laugh.
He’d be happy to do more impressions of Democratic figures, “but there are no Democrats left,” Friend zinged, before launching into impressions of former Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris’ 2024 running mate, Tim Walz.
